2018-2019 Project
In our second year of NASA Student Launch eligibility, Troop 17 built on our success the prior year to design a new in-flight science payload that studied the harvesting of electrical energy from the heat produced by the rocket motor. The idea was to demonstrate how small amounts of electrical energy could be harvested near where they are used to power small devices like wireless sensors. We also wanted to study how much electrical energy we could generate to see if this was a feasible project to continue studying in the future.
